Moving Company Dallas TX

I often talk about different subjects about moving, finding a mover in Dallas, or movers Arlington TX. Usually trying to give helpful tips on what to do during a move. Today is something a little different. Today we will try and concentrate on moving another important item in your house, your pets. Many times the people we move have some sort of pet. It may be a bird, dog, cat, mouse, fish, snake, or some other type of animal. I believe in my lifetime I have moved everything but a snake. You have to remember that although the move is very stressful on the homeowner, it is also very stressful on most pets. These tips are common sense tips that everyone knows must be accomplished, but sometimes we forget. On moving day this will be very stressful on your pet. They know something is about to happen, because they have seen you for days getting boxes together, packing items in your home or apartment, or you have brought your pet to your new place for a visit. In any case your pet knows. On moving day try and keep your pet in a secluded area or maybe at your favorite kennel or Vet for a day. Try and keep them away from the hectic grind of moving and away from the movers. This will help keep your pets calm and relaxed. Once in your new home make sure all of your pets favorite toys are out and ready for them to play. This will make them feel better and more at home since they have the items they recognize at their new location. Take your pets and show them their new home and where everything is located such as their food, water, toy box, and sleeping beds. Also if your pets go outside or live outside, make sure you give them a tour of their surroundings. Let them sniff and smell to their hearts content. They are just trying to find out what or who has been visiting their new home in the past. Often times it will take a little longer for your pet to get comfortable with your new home. Sometimes animals have a very hard time adjusting. I had a cat that was both and inside and outside cat. He liked to go outside and play or just do what cats do. I moved only 4-5 blocks away and after several days of walking around with him I thought he would be fine to let be by himself. Well he went missing for 2 weeks. I finally went back to my old home and guess what; he was just a few houses away. I could tell he had been feed and was well taking care of because he was still somewhat fat and he had what smelled like baby powder on his fur. Well I took the little feller back to his new home and gave him more time to get familiar with his surroundings.
Another item you should accomplish is get your pet new identification tags. Your old tags may not have the new phone number or new address. Also if you are moving to a new area, try and secure a new Vet before or just after your move. This will make things a lot simpler if and emergency was to arise. Also don’t forget to obtain all of your pet’s records. This will help your new Vet on your pet’s first visit to their doctor.
